What is a Meerkat's Habitat?
Meerkats are found in south western Africa. Their habitat
is primarily semi-desert scrub and possibly woodland
but they prefer open stony country. The meerkat or suricate
is a small mammal native to Africa that is a member
of the mongoose family. Meerkats live in clans, usually
containing about 20 meerkats (although large families
of over 50 have been reported).
